Valerie has over 25 years experience in the classroom and as a consultant, working with students aged 3 to 26 with Autism Spectrum Disorders.
She has Education Specialist Certification in Administration and Supervision and teacher & consultant certification in the areas of Autism Spectrum Disorders and Emotional Impairment.
Valerie is an Effective Practices Leadership Initiative (EPLI) Trainer in Educational Strategies for Michigan Department of Education’s Statewide Autism Resources Training (START) Initiative. She is also trained in TEACCH methodology.
Valerie also has extensive experience conducting Functional Behavior Assessments and developing Behavior Intervention Plans.
Valerie has developed and presented numerous training sessions around autism awareness, effective teaching strategies, and functional behavior analysis, including a training module specifically for paraprofessionals.
She has also had the pleasure of being a guest lecturer at her alma mater, Eastern Michigan University. |
